Hello There …

Welcome to Mmedara Bookshop. In the next two or so paragraphs, I will introduce myself.

First

I am Mmedara Kingsley Akpan, Hon. Justice (Elder) Ita G. Mbaba, PJCA, OFR and Late Dcns. Mercy Ita Mbaba (nee Mercy Sunday Ibanga)’s first daughter. My Mum was a rare precious gem who taught us, the five Angels, to be strong. Yes, that’s what our parents call us. My siblings are Esehobong, Akanifiok, Ukuobong and Akem. Interesting to note, we are all women and most importantly, all highly creative, beautiful, smart, and Godly in our different professions and passion. In other words, I’m super proud of us. I’m married to a dynamic World Changer; Kingsley Elijah Akpan (Yup, I know I’m tooting my own horn).

What else?

Second, I design graphics and websites at my company, MDQuency Designs Limited. I love (and I’m amazed each time) how few designs or words can say a lot about a company, person, or brand. Hence, I get excited seeing it unfold in my mind, and I am, you guess it, overwhelmed, when displayed on paper, wood, cloth or anything and the client goes, WOW. I manage and sell my dad’s books here (I hope to add my own publications, someday) on Mmedara Bookshop; a subsidiary of MDQuency Designs Limited.

I have a community on Facebook, called, MDQuency’s Desk, where I share tidbits about myself, my thoughts, my designs, my journey in managing book sales, etc. In fact, you can join us as it may be enlightening or useful to YOU. I also work as Senior Database Manager at Dove International Schools and Dove International High School. Managing data, systems, issues, situations and analyzing performance/growth gives me joy and I get lost in it for hours. Moreover, numbers and how technology makes doing analysis so easy is also some of the things I love. In case you haven’t figured it out yet, I am a nerd.

Third,

God, leadership, and people – to mention a few, is what I’m extremely passionate about. Consequently, helping and seeing people reach their fullest potential – if there’s any English like that – because I like getting people to be their best self is of great importance to me. Fourth, I hate where people are oppressed or judged wrongly; I become mama bear at such instances – whether I know the oppressed or not is inconsequential. Fifth, I love singing, reading, cooking (or should I say creating) new delicacies and watching good movies (I bury myself in books/watching good movies for days rather than party).

Sixth, we grow every day, there’s always something to learn somewhere, from anyone. As such, I don’t limit myself to what I know, I pick minds, share ideas, listen to people and things around me. I can learn from something as simple as watching a movie. One of my mottoes is, to grow in life, be ready, always, to learn, unlearn and relearn. Always be yourself and with the right set of people/company. Seven or is it lastly? Yours truly created this website, mainly, to host and manage my father’s publications. My father has written and published many literary works, legal and Christian materials which are of high demand in Schools, Courts, Churches and the reading public, some of which, however, have been hawked unauthorized, online. Therefore, this website officially presents his publications to you; undertake sells and purchases as well as handle your reactions, comments and inquiries about his books/works. Furthermore, some of his works are here for you to digest free of charge. At the moment, he has authored five novels, three collections of poetry, three handbooks on marriage, four handbooks on legal issues/procedures and many evangelism materials/gospel tracts.
